Race Workouts are race-based competitions against yourself and other members of the Ergatta community.
An overview video can be found here.
Races are asynchronous, meaning you are not competing against others in real-time, but rather, against people’s previously recorded times.
Each race is a set overall distance, but most are constructed as a series of segments; effectively a series of smaller races at different distances. All of those segments, each of which is separated by a brief rest period, combine to constitute the overall race distance.
For example, this 2k Ergatta Race is structured as: a 500m segment, a rest, a 1000m segment, a rest, and then one last 500m segment.
For those who prefer a more traditional competition, there are also single-segment races without rests.
Once you commit to race, you’ll be grouped against 8 competitors of a similar physical profile to yourself that have previously done the race. They will be your direct competition for this specific workout.
