My Ergatta's tank water doesn’t look clear
If your Ergatta's tank water doesn’t look clear, we recommend:
- Ensuring that the water you have in your tank is not hard water. Our manufacturer recommends sometimes using bottled water and not town tap water to keep the water clean. If your tank is currently dirty, you may try to rinse/flush out the tank with some rubbing alcohol and then filling it with clean water. Note: Adding a purification tablet to cloudy water will not help clear it.
- If your tank has grown algae due to lack of maintenance, please empty as much of the algae infested water as you can. Then fill the tank back up to where it was filled previously. You’ll want to add ¼ cup of an algae cleaner solution (Our manufacturer recommends Pondcare Microbial Algae Cleaner solution). Please pull the handle a few times to mix the solution. Rest assured, this will not harm the tank if you leave it in and you may row within it. Once the tank is clear again, you may add a purification tablet.
